Overdues

An item is considered overdue if the user keeps it beyond the due date assigned to the item. If you possess an overdue item, your borrowing privileges (as well as the borrowing privileges of anyone sharing your card) will be suspended until the overdue item is either returned or renewed. Suspension of borrowing privileges includes a suspension of use of the library's computers and other equipment.

If you fail to return or renew the overdue item, you will begin receiving overdue notices. These notices will be sent to the sponsor's email and will begin arriving 4 days after the due date. If the matter is not resolved by the time the third notice is generated (18 days after the due date), we will attempt to reach you by phone. If the item is not returned within three days from the time of this phone call, the third notice will be sent to the sponsor's first sergeant / commander. You may not renew the item once the third notice is generated.

If the item is not returned within a reasonable time frame after the third notice, it will be considered lost and you (or your sponsor) will be held accountable for replacement of the item. Borrowing privileges will remain suspended until the matter is resolved.

There is no penalty for returning items late. The library does not charge overdue fines.

Please bear in mind that certain materials (e.g. CLEP and Dante's study guides) are always in high demand and often have extensive waiting lists. Failure to return them on time causes a hardship to other members of the Holloman community. Please do your best to return materials promptly so that others may use them.
